About The Animal Behaviourist
Karen is a qualified professional and Clinical Animal Behaviourist (CAB) and Canine Behaviour Specialist. She has undergone extensive assessment, of educational, experiential, training and ethical standards to achieved the recognised accreditation.
She is a Champion on non-cruelty methods of dog behaviour modification & training. She has over 23 years experience in working with dogs, a distinction in Advanced Animal Behaviour AdVAB, a foundation degree level ADipCBM, with a distinction in Canine Behaviour Management, a Bsc degree level GdipABM in Animal Behaviour Management, AET tutor qualification and various instructor and Behaviourist certificates.
There are many untrained people setting themselves up as a behaviourist. She is a coveted registered Clinical Animal Behaviourist with ABTC TCBTS and APTC. Registered practitioners have attained the recognised level of criteria, to the high level of the imminent industry standard.The ABTC along with registered practitioner organisations, nationally sets the high standards of professionalism, promoting excellence with humane methods for long term results.
She is also a member of the Institute of Animal Care and Education (MIACE) and the Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour (ASAB). Karen is active in promoting knowledge and understanding of animal behaviour. She writes articles for the parish magazine, has done local talks on dog behaviour/training and has undertaken a scientific study on the dog owner bond.
